2nd Meeting of the Regional Task Forces on MWW & PADH

The joint second meeting of the Regional Taskforces on Municipal Waste Water Management (MWW) and Physical Alteration and Destruction of Habitats (PADH) of the UNEP/GEF WIO-LaB Project “Addressing Land-based Activities in the Western Indian Ocean” (WIO-LaB) was held in Moroni, Comoros on 26-28 October 2005.

The main purpose of the meeting was to review the proposals received from the participating countries on potential demonstration projects related to MWW and PADH. In addition, the meeting was dedicated to a review of the GPA “Guidelines for Municipal Wastewater Management” and the draft Regional Annex thereto, as well as the key principles on PADH, which were distributed as background documents during the inception meetings of the two Task Forces in April of this year.  The meetings also reviewed Training and Education needs in participating countries.
